11. Summary
Pros:
- good quality casing,
- excellent image quality in the frame centre,
- good image quality on the edge of the frame from f/2.0 aperture,
- low longitudinal chromatic aberration,
- negligible lateral chromatic aberration,
- practically zero distortion,
- good performance against bright light,
- favourable price/quality and price/parameters ratio,
- 5 –year warranty period.
Cons:
- weak image quality on the edge of the frame near the maximum realtive aperture,
- noticeable spherical aberration,
- distinct astigmatism,
- huge vignetting.
Personally I had an opportunity to appreciate moderate dimensions and weight of the Samyang 1.2/35 during a trip to Norwegian Lofoten. It didn’t make my backpack especially heavy and below you can find some processed shots, those I like the most, which I managed to take.
