Tamron SP 24-70 mm f/2.8 VC USD G2
10. Autofocus
We don’t have any reasons to complain about the accuracy of the focusing mechanism. Outside, in good lighting conditions, we didn’t experience any problems. In the studio the number of misses didn’t exceed 2–3%.
When it comes to front or back focus tendency this time we have something different to say. The Tamron 24-70 mm G2 didn’t cooperate seamlessly with the EOS 50D because at 50 mm it had distinct back-focus which changed into front-focus after passing to 70 mm.

The situation was a tad better with the lens attached to the 5D Mk III where, at 50 mm, we noticed a very slight front-focus which practically disappeared after passing to 70 mm. The effect was so imperceptible that both focal lengths could be improved by just one microcalibration adjustment on the camera menu level.
