The appearance of out-of-focus images is good. You can notice a slight trace of onion ring bokeh due to one aspherical element in the lens's construction; also, on stopping down, there is a lighter rim which might be a bit bothersome. Still both these effects aren't especially pronounced so the circles of light look nice and well. Mechanical vignetting is a problem, though – by f/2.8 it is very distinct and it never disappears completely even on stopping down the aperture by 2 EV.
