10. Autofocus

The autofocus of the tested lens attached to the Fujifilm X-T2 camera is noiseless; its speed depends on many different factors. At shorter focal lengths and in good lighting conditions everything is fast and efficient – running through the whole distance range and confirming the focus doesn't exceed 0.3-0.4 of a second. At the maximum focal length and in worse lighting conditions, when the subject is not properly contrasted, autofocus works slower and the whole operation of setting the focus might last even one second.

When it comes to accuracy we don't have any serious reservations as the number of misses didn't exceed 3-4%. Still it's worth mentioning the fact that the lens sometimes managed to miss even in excellent lighting conditions, with the subject properly contrasted. It was a bit strange but, fortunately, such situations were sporadic.

We didn't have problems with any front or back focus tendencies, no matter what focal length we employed.
