10. Autofocus

The autofocus of the tested lens joined with the Sony A7R II camera is completely noiseless - you can't hear even the slightest whirr of moving elements. Its work can also be called quick as running through the whole distance range and confirming the focus takes from 0.3 to 0.5 of a second, a truly praiseworthy result.

The speed of the mechanism matched its accuracy pretty well - we didn't notice any significant problems, either while shooting in studio or outside. The number of misses we got while working on our testing charts didn't exceed 2% which is a very good result.

We didn't have any problems with front or back focus tendencies either – even taking photos at the longer end of the focal spectrum and from small distances, or near the maximum relative aperture, the subject was always situated in the DOF area.
