The chart proves that the new Nikkor Z corrects distortion like its two reflex camera brothers; however, it should be noticed that it gest some help in the shape of moustache distortion. That effect is perhaps not huge but it remains visible to the naked eye and it shows in measurements. When you limit your field to 1:1 markings , so an area without moustache-type deformations, you find out that the level of distortion amounts to −2.33% so a bit more than the averaged-out level you get across the frame.

In this category, plenty of expensive, fast 24 mm lenses have been ashamed by the small, shapely Samyang AF 2.8/24 FE, an instrument which distortion correction is beyond reproach, even if it is also helped a bit by moustache deformations. Still, that lens proves that you can fight this aberration even if your optical construction is not especially complex.
