1. Introduction

The series of Sigma Contemporary full frame lenses designed for mirrorless cameras started in an unusual way. In July 2019 Sigma presented the Sigma C 45 mm f/2.8 DG DN as the Sony FE and L-mount versions. The lens's parameters were far from standard but also it featured a very original and very solid casing. At that time you couldn't be sure whether such an instrument was just an one-off prank or a beginning of a new trend.

The whole mystery was solved at the beginning of December 2020 with other two fixed focal C line lenses - we think here about the C 35 mm f/2 DG DN and the C 65 f/2 DG DN. Their style of design was similar to the style of the 2.8/45 instrument. Our editorial office got two pre-production specimens of these lenses already at the end of November so we had several days for handling them and sharing our impressions. Not so long ago we also got a production specimen of the Sigma C 35 mm f/2 DG DN so it's time to conduct its full test.

We would like to thank K-Consult, the Sigma products distributor for Poland, for very quick and efficient delivery of the final model to our office.
