Venus Optics LAOWA Argus 33 mm f/0.95 CF APO
9. Ghosting and flares
It seems the constructors of the Argus have forgotten that coatings are not the only thing that counts; a proper construction of the interior of the tube, its blackening and baffling, along with blackening of the edges of elements is also important. The final result should only be called tragic – not only you get a lot of light artifacts, visible no matter whether the sun is situated inside of far from the frame, but also you have to deal with a significant contrast loss.
To sum up, I haven't observed such a weak performance in this category for a very long time.
