Astigmatism, understood as an average difference between vertical and horizontal MTF50 values, amounted to 6.0% and it is a low level – in this area the lens should be praised once again.

Optical construction of the Sigma 2/24 features two aspherical elements and their influence is visible in defocused light circles. They are not smooth, with a slightly accented onion ring bokeh. The overall image seems to be quite sensible for a wide angle lens. It's also worth noticing that mechanical vignetting makes itself felt by f/2.0 and f/2.8, disappearing by f/4.0.
