There are not that many lenses faster than f/1.0 on the market but in 2021-2022 their number increased significantly. We owe it to Venus Optics LAOWA – in these years they presented a new line of products called Argus, consisting of fixed focal length instruments as fast as f/0.95. Their basic properties shows the following chart.
As you can notice, the producers took care of users of all types of mirrorless cameras – each size of sensor has a standard lens and an equivalent of the classic 35 mm. For Micro 4/3 sensors you get 18 mm and 25 mm Argus lenses, the APS-C/DX sensors can cooperate with the 25 mm and 33 mm models and the 35 mm and 45 mm devices can be attached to different full frame instruments. Of course full frame models can also work with APS-C/DX mirrorless cameras.
Some time ago we had an opportunity to test the Argus 33 mm f/0.95 CF APO. Now we decided to take a closer look at the Argus 25 mm f/0.95 MFT, designed for mirrorless Micro 4/3 system instruments – enjoy your reading!
