9. Ghosting and flares

The Nikkor's Z 50 mm f/1.4 performance against bright light is quite sensible. Most of the problems you can observe when the sun is positioned relatively close to the frame centre but with such a kind of equipment such situations are few and far between. When you move the source of bright light towards the frame corner the number and intensity of flares decreases significantly. All problems end practically completely when you move the sun right outside the frame corner.

It's worth mentioning the fact that you can't observe here any distinct contrast loss and images are properly sharp even if you put the source of bright light inside the frame.
