9. Ghosting and flares

In wide angle lenses it is very easy to obtain flares caused by a side light. This is why this class of lens should have accurate internal construction as well as great quality antireflective coatings. Canon seems to be performing well in this category, although for 10 mm and a specific combination of bright beams of lights, it is possible to achieve a picture just like the one below.
