5. Chromatic aberration

One of the reasons of weak performance at the edge of the frame, at the shortest focal length is definitely chromatic aberration, as is clearly depicted in the graph below.

At 18 mm focal length the level of this aberration reaches over 0.16%, so it’s large. Fortunately, after extending the focal length aberration doesn’t trouble us much anymore. In the range 30-50 mm it’s small or slight.
