9. Ghosting and flares

Usually with Sigmas there are no reasons to complain in the category of ghosting and flares. Unfortunately, here the situation is quite different. We don’t know if it’s the savings on the coatings, or a closed construction that doesn’t change its dimensions, but the effect visible at longer focal lengths isn’t satisfactory. Only at 18 mm focal length the number of light artifacts is small, but after zooming and stopping down the aperture it increases quite fast.
