We weren’t bothered by the Canon’s optical distortions at the edges of the frame in everyday work. We measured the distortion values at 90, 135, 200 and 300 mm focal lengths and the results are respectively: 0.06%, 0.50%, 0.73% and 0.99%. We have to add that the distortion is never a big problem in this lens class, as can be observed in the chart below. We compared the results of the tested lens with other lenses of similar focal length range.
