The astigmatism, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 values, amounted to 8.4%. It is a medium level, noticeably lower than the result of the Nikkor 1.8/35G. The Canon 2/35 IS was the best in this category, with the astigmatism reaching just 3%.

We don’t have any reservations concerning defocused images. The light in the circles is evenly spread, without any local extreme points. On stopping down you can notice a slight rim but it is nothing to worry about. Of course, with such physical dimensions of the lens, you should be prepared for the presence of the mechanical vignetting in a form of truncated rings in the corners of full frame. That effect disappears only after stopping down by 2 EV.
