Canon EF 24-105 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
6. Distortion
You’ll experience far more problems on full frame. At the widest angle you get quite distinct “barrel” which value we measured as −4.31%. Mind you it is a result for the whole frame. After looking closely you can notice traces of moustache distortion and it should be taken into account in your measurements. As a result, when we measured the distortion only for the area limited by the 1:1 markings its value increased to a very high level of −5.1%.
Like on the smaller sensor, the distortion becomes zero near 40 mm (the official result being +0.01%). At the 70 mm and 105 mm focal lengths you already deal with pincushion distortion which values we determined as, respectively, +1.08% and +1.36%.
