The astigmatism, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 function values, amounted to 3.2% so was low. It would be difficult to see it even near the maximum relative aperture.

Circles of light, generated by the Tamron in out-of-focus areas, are very pleasing to the eye. Here Tamron managed to outperform even the results we saw in the 1.8/45 and 1.8/35 models – not even a trace of any onion rings.
