Tamron SP 85 mm f/1.8 Di VC USD

9. Ghosting and flares

Special coatings (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency and BBAR – Broad-Band Anti-Reflection), the Tamron boasts of seem to be useful and performing as they should. You cannot catch any flares in most combinations of aperture values and positions of the source of bright light; even when you do catch something it is not especially bothersome. The biggest chances to see any flares in your photos are when the sun is situated close to the frame centre but an 85 mm class lens is hardly ever used for such shots so the problem seems to be of small importance.

To sum up: the tested lens’s performance against bright light we consider to be good.
