Sigma C 100-400 mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM
6. Distortion
On full frame the deformations are more visible but still they won’t be causing an inconvenience. Most problems you can notice at the shortest focal length where you deal with the ‘pincushion’ kind of +0.64%; at the longer end of the focal length spectrum the distortion increases to near 1.5%. Official values we got in our test at 200, 300 and 400 mm are: +1.52%, +1.59% and +1.56%.
In this category the Sigma fares slightly worse than its brand name rivals. The Nikkor 80-400 VR exceeded a bit the level of +1.0% only at 300-400 focal lengths and the Canon 100-400 mm II fared likewise.
