7. Coma, astigmatism and bokeh

As long as you use the APS-C sensor the coma shouldn’t bother you at all. The situation changes after progressing to full frame. At the maximum relative aperture the coma is quite noticeable in the very corner of the frame but its level cannot be called very high. It should be emphasized, though, that after stopping down the lens to f/2.8 the coma problem decreases distinctly.

Astigmatism, understood as an average difference between vertical and horizontal MTF50 function values, might be far less bothersome than coma. Its value we assessed as 2.4% and we consider it a very good, really praiseworthy result.

Blurry areas look good for a wide angle lens. A slightly accented rim in defocused circles of light is the only feature which might worry you; apart from that the light spread is more or less even, without any disturbing features. Circles of light from frame corners are a bit truncated by mechanical vignetting but it would be foolish not to expect that effect, taking the parameters of the lens into account.
