Astigmatism, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 function values, amounted to 4.5%. It is a level we consider to be low, quite sensible if you compare it to the results of some rivals (better than the astigmatism of the Canon and the Samyang Premium anyway). Still it must be said the tested lens fared a tad worse than the manual Samyang 2.8/14, the Irix and the Sigma.

The out-of-focus areas look quite well for a lens with such parameters. Defocused circles don’t show any alarming features, with quite even spread of light inside. Momentarily a lighter rim makes itself felt. You can also notice strong deformations of the circle in the frame corners but it would be difficult to call it a flaw as it stems from the rectilinear mapping.
