7. Coma, astigmatism and bokeh
It would be difficult to criticise coma correction of the Nikkor Z 85 mm f/1.8 S in a harsh way because images of a diode are deformed only in the corner of full frame; they remain slight even though they are easy to notice. As a result you can talk about moderate levels, and it shouldn't be considered a serious flaw.

Astigmatism, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 function values, amounted to 7.1% and it can be described as low. The result of the Nikkor remains worse than that of its predecessor and of the Tamron but better than that of the Sony.
When it comes to out-of-focus areas they look very nice. Light spread in the circles is even and the rim which appears on stopping down the aperture is not especially intensive. You can notice mechanic vignetting but it disappears practically completely on stopping down the aperture by 2 EV.
