Astigmatism, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 values, amounted to 3.6%. It is a very low value so the performance in this category can be assessed very positively.

Defocused circles of light look well when it comes to light spread within them. As a result the lens is able to produce very nice blurry background, with just a trace of onion-ring bokeh. We have some reservations concerning truncated circles – a result of mechanical vignetting. That effect remains visible even on stopping down the aperture to f/4.0.
