10. Autofocus

The Tokina's 1.4/33 autofocus, when joined with the Fujifilm X-T30, is silent and quite quick. Running through the whole distance range and confirming the focus takes about 0.5 of a second.

Unfortunately, our opinion concerning accuracy of the mechanism, is rather low. We took the lens, attached to the X-T30, outside to shoot some sample photos. Lighting conditions were excellent but still the autofocus managed to miss in about 20% of all shots. It is a result definitely weaker than you expect from contemporary standards.

The cooperation with more advanced but also older body, the Fujifilm X-T2, was also noiseless and equally quick but the accuracy remained mediocre. Even though the number of misses was reduced to 10-15% it still wasn't something you should expect from a performance of an efficient, modern lens.

Still we didn't notice any serious front or back focus tendencies.
