Sigma A 50 mm f/1.4 DG DN
1. Introduction
In the span of three years the Sigma system gained five f/1.4 Art instruments that cover the focal length range from 20 to 85 mm. The following chart shows a summary of basic properties of these lenses. It's also worth mentioning the fact that soon afterwards we saw 14 and 135 mm models but as fast as f/1.8. The following years brought the launches of f/1.4 primes with focal lengths of 105, 28, and 40 mm.

Still it was strange that Sigma made us wait so long for the most classic of standard lenses, the 1.4/50 model – it was announced in February 2023 and finally we managed to get it. Courtesy of K-Consult, official distributor of the Sigma brand for Poland, we had an opportunity to handle and test the production specimen and the results you can find in the following chapters – enjoy!
