Samyang AF 50 mm f/1.4 FE II

9. Ghosting and flares

At the maximum relative aperture there are few problems with ghosting and flares; still there is one exception. If you put the source of bright light right outside a frame corner, a huge light artifact is able to overexpose the majority of your frame.

This effect is strengthened additionally on stopping down. What's more, the number of flares and their intensity can increase also in other combinations of sun position.

In this category the performance of the Samyang hardly impresses but it is not a big tragedy either – I've seen different lenses performing far weaker.
