7. Coma, astigmatism and bokeh

The photo below shows very clearly that coma is certainly one of factors that limit the resolution of the lens on the edge of the frame. It's really pronounced at the maximum relative aperture. Fortunately on stopping down the lens by 1 EV is able to reduce distinctly its level.

Astigmatism, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF function values amounted to just 2.8%. It is a very low value and here the Viltrox should definitely be praised.

Defocused circles of light look quite well when it comes to light spread – of course you should keep in mind the parameters of this lens. Of course after taking a closer look you can notice a brighter centre of the circle and traces of onion ring bokeh. Mechanical vignetting makes itself felt by f/1.4 and f/2.0 but it is a kind of consolation that these features disappear completely on stopping down the lens to f/2.8.
