Nikon Nikkor AF-S 14-24 mm f/2.8G ED

9. Ghosting and flares

The Nikkor 14-24 mm has a build-in petal-type lens hood which, along with good anti-reflection coatings, certainly helps when working against bright light. On the other hand the huge and convex front element must catch a lot of side light. As a result at every focal length you can register some light artifacts and their number is quite significant. Fortunately their intensity is not high so they aren’t conspicuous.
