All 1.8/50 class lenses, tested on APS-C/DX sensors, show slight barrel distortion which value doesn’t exceed -1%. The Pentax is not an exception to that rule – in its case the distortion level amounts to -0.39%. It compares very favourably with its rivals as you can notice glancing at a chart below. The comparison with the Sony is the most objective one because that lens was also designed for a smaller sensor and here the Pentax is noticeably better.
