Nikon Nikkor AF-S DX 18-140 mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR
1. Introduction
When it seemed that Nikon have shown everything there was to show in that segment, in June 2013 the news about the launch of the Nikkor AF-S DX 18-140 mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR went around the photographic world. At first glance you could say the producer simply duplicated the 18-135 mm and the 18-105 mm models already present on the market but that impression proved to be rather deceiving. Firstly the new lens’s build quality is better (metal mount plate). What’s more, it has the widest focal range and, in contrast to the 18-135 mm, it is equipped with optical stabilization. Its significantly higher price also indicates that better quality materials were used not only in the casing but also in optics.
