The performance of the Nikkor 24-70 mm f/2.8 S against bright light is good. In some circumstances you can catch light artifacts but they are few and far between, neither especially intense nor big.
Taking into account complexity of the optical construction of the tested lens (after all you deal here with as many as 15 groups of elements so 30 air-to-glass surfaces where, potentially, you can get unwanted light reflections) and the presence of a huge front element, not sheltered by anything, the task in this category was difficult. Nikon constructors did a good job here and, in our opinion, you can't have any serious reservations.
