Viltrox AF 23 mm f/1.4 XF
1. Introduction
That last mount version was especially interesting because the 1.8/85 model came with autofocus. It made Viltrox the second independent producer, right after Zeiss (Touit series), that offerend an autofocus lens for mirrorless Fuji cameras. Still the real crop of Viltrox novelties arrived a bit later – in 2020 we were shown the Viltrox AF 33 mm f/1.4 STM ED IF, the Viltrox AF 23 mm f/1.4 XF, the Viltrox AF 56 mm f/1.4 XF, and also the cinema version of the 20 mm instrument and the refreshed 85 mm model.
As 20 mm and 85 mm models did relatively well in our tests we wanted to look closely at other Viltrox novelties too. The AF 23 mm f/1.4 XF model fell into our hands and we were very curious whether it would perform as its predecessors. In the following chapters you can find its full test and our answer to that question – enjoy your reading!

We managed to borrow that lens courtesy of Fototechnika, a Polish distributor of Viltrox instruments.
