Astigmatism, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 function values, amounted to 6.9%. It's a value a tad lower than 10% we registered during the test of the Fujinon 1.4/23.

Defocused circles of light look very well – as a result you get very nice and smooth out-of-focus areas with just a slight rim that appears when you stop down the lens a bit more. Our reservations concern mainly the fact that circles are truncated because of mechanical vignetting. That effect is visible even when you pass to the vicinity of f/2.8 relative aperture.
