Fujifilm Fujinon XF 50 mm f/1.0 R WR
9. Ghosting and flares
On the other hand you get an expensive, big lens with a moderate angle of view. I suppose, with such a project the producers had enough of measures at their disposal to apply high quality coatings and blacken properly the interior of the instrument with lot of space left for ribbing and apertures.
The problem is that the final result doesn't bowl you over. We would more than understand flares appearing when the sun is situated in the field of view or right outside the corner of the frame. Still, on stopping down the aperture the situation is such that light artefact in the corner remains visible even if the source of bright light is positioned far from the frame. Evidently somebody failed in this area and it shouldn't have happened in this class of equipment.
