8. Vignetting
A7R III, APS-C, f/1.8 | A7R III, APS-C, f/2.0 |
No reasons to complain here – at the maximum relative aperture vignetting is low, amounting to 21% (−0.68EV). By f/2.0 it decreases to a practically imperceptible level of 14% (−0.43 EV), and by f/2.8 it drops even further, to a value of just 4% (−0.11 EV).

Now let's check the level of brightness loss in the corners on full frame – appropriate thumbnails you can find below.

At the maximum relative aperture vignetting amounts to 42% (-1.56 EV) being quite noticeable. A slight stopping down the aperture to f/2.0 changes this aberration, decreasing it to 36% (-1.27 EV), and more pronounced stopping down to f/2.8 is able to reduce it to a slight level of 18% (-0.56 EV). By f/4.0 and f/5.6 vignetting becomes imperceptible, reaching, respectively, 11% (-0.34 EV) and 8% (-0.24 EV).
