9. Ghosting and flares
After stopping down the aperture vignetting decreases and flares start being bothersome. What's more, they can be noticed in many different situations, independent of the position of the sun. However, there is one position you should avoid - if you put the sun right behind the frame corner you can produce a really nasty flare that takes up the most of your photo.
As a consolation you should add that overall contrast of images doesn't decrease significantly.
