The autofocus of the tested lens works noiselessly and is quick. Even in worse than ideal lighting conditions the focusing time doesn’t exceed 0.6 of a second. It is a very good result we don’t have any reservations about. It is worth emphasizing that when you pass from the Olympus E-PL1 to the newer version so the Panasonic GX-1 the lens works even a tad faster.

We also haven’t noticed any problems with the accuracy of the focusing mechanism. It is difficult to say whether it stems from a good cooperation between the lens and the camera or a large depth of field generated by this set – the overall result is very good though.
