In the case of the Panaleica 50-200 mm astigmatism, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 values, amounted to 9.5% and such a value can be called medium. It’s worth adding that the 100 mm and the 200 mm focal lengths influence that result the most and the 50 mm focal length contributes the least to its value.
Out-of-focus areas provided by the Panaleica look sensibly well but still you can find several reservations. There is a distinct rim around the circles, you can also notice slightly accented concentric rings, stemming most likely from the presence of aspherical elements. Mechanical vignetting makes itself felt only at the maximum relative aperture for a change.
