The astigmatism, understood as an average difference between vertical and horizontal MTF50 function values, amounted to 11.6% which is a medium level.

The appearance of out-of-focus images is simply weak. First, you see a lot of concentric but rather ragged circles which shapes are most likely connected to the presence of three aspherical elements. Additionally you can notice that seven diaphragm blades don’t provide a fully round aperture and on stopping down the image of the “circle” is hardly symmetric. The presence of huge mechanical vignetting in such a small lens cannot be called a surprise, though.
