Canon EF-S 35 mm f/2.8 Macro IS STM
10. Autofocus
In the case of the older Canon 50D the running times were similar but the lens wavered a bit, hunting for the right position. It happened especially when we passed from the minimum distance to an object situated in infinity; sometimes the autofocus got lost, moving in the wrong direction. Eventually it found the proper setting but the overall focusing time increased.
We don’t have the slightest reservations concerning the accuracy of the autofocus. The number of misses in studio reached a very low level of 2-3%. The lens also didn’t have any front or back focus tendencies.
