When it comes to the astigmatism, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 function values, its level can be called imperceptible. We got just 2% and it’s a result noticeably lower than 11% of the Nikkor 2.8/40 and, within the margin of error, the same as 3% reached by the Tokina.

Defocused light circles are hardly perfect. A lighter rim and concentric rings stick out a bit, most likely because the lens features an aspherical element in its construction. By f/2.8 the mechanical vignetting makes itself felt but it diminishes noticeably on stopping down the aperture to f/4.0.
